Community Involvement

In alignment with the Northwestern Mutual Foundation, The Alcantara Financial Group aims to improve the lives of children and families in need through financial support, volunteerism, thought leadership and collaboration with community partners. They stand behind finding a cure for pediatric cancer, partnering with organizations such as Candlelighters Cancer Foundation of Nevada, a nonprofit organization that supports local families dealing with pediatric cancer, and Alex's Lemonade Stand Foundation (ALSF), a childhood cancer foundation dedicated to raising funds for research into new treatments and cures for all children battling cancer. These organizations are dedicated to alleviating the uncertainty and isolation felt by families facing childhood cancer through support, education, and services.

A veteran himself, John Alcantara, along with his team, also supports the Wounded Warrior Project, an organization that honors and empowers wounded service members. John and his team also support the Gary Sinise Foundation, an organization founded by actor Gary Sinise after the tragic events of 9/11 to honor the brave service members who, each day, protect and defend our great country -- our defenders, veterans, first responders, their families, and those in need.

John is also involved in the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program, an organization that helps less fortunate children throughout the U.S. by delivering them new toys for Christmas.

During his free time, John volunteers his time with Catholic Charities, helping the homeless at a shelter in Downtown Las Vegas.
